Description and objectives:

The fourth industrial revolution is bringing the need for connectivity of industrial machines, as well as the challenge of extracting benefits from the analysis of data obtained in real time. It is therefore necessary to find key instruments to evolve current business models towards concepts that improve added value, industrial competitiveness and business profitability.

The paradigm of total connection and the exploitation of information in the machine-tool sector is evolving considerably, bringing improvements in maintenance and diagnosis, as well as in the optimization of the integral management of the machine and the industrial plant. On these first foundations, the CONINTEL project aims to achieve a solution capable of controlling not only the latest generation CNCs, but also those equipped with older but perfectly functional systems, which can take advantage of the latest technical advances available without radical changes in the production park.

Within CONINTEL, a high intensity technological development will be carried out (OPC-UA connectivity features, communication options, acces to variables, etc.) with the aim of obtaining the definitive prototype of an application, desployable on a PC, connectable with older systems, even from third parts, in a simple way, with the possibility of increasing the capacity of this type of systems in obtaining information from sensor, all this without essentially modifying the CNC and without the need for additional intermediate hardware.
